With A Promise wins Silk Stocking

Three Year old filly With A Promise showed the heart of a lion today leading all of the way to notch her first stakes win against her older rivals.  Jumping from barrier 10 in the 13 horse field, the Ben Currie trained filly made her intentions know early by speeding across the field and then under the urging of jockey Josh Oliver she dug in for the fight and came out on top in a close finish to score a value black type win.

With A Promise was purchased by Boomer Bloodstock at the 2015 Magic Millions Yearling Sale for a bargain price of $26,000 from the Corumbene Stud draft for Mike and Patti Crooks, Mishani Enterprises.  With Promise is by the hottest young sire in Australia, I Am Invincible and is the fifth foal of the winning Hurricane Sky mare Danrese who is a half sister to Stakes Winner Vignor.

The win took the filly’s record to five wins and a second from eleven starts.
