Epic Grey wins Magic Millions

Epic Grey was given no favours in the Magic Millions Three Year Old event at Pinjarra today with the powerful grey posted three wide throughout although entering the straight he put his rivals to the sword to score an easy win on the line in the $150,000 event over 1200m.

Trainer Lindsey Smith has done a marvellous job with the gelding that narrowly missed winning the Belgravia Stakes in the Spring and Lindsey believes the grey has big race wins in his future. The victory took his impressive record to 4 wins, 4 seconds and 2 thirds from 10 starts with the win taking his earnings over $242,000.

Epic Grey is by Oaklands Stud sire Wicked Style, an American import who wont he Gr.1 Breeders’ Futurity as a two year old at Keeneland.  Epic Grey was purchased for $67,500 at the Magic Millions QTIS March Yearling Sale from Oaklands Stud draft for a big group of owners including Boomer’s wife McCall, his parents and Bill Andrews who also races Boomer’s Group 1 winning purchase Scales of Justice.
