Bonita Star scores in Del Mar

English import Bonita Star (GB) notched her second win on American shores today when she prevailed as short price favourite in the US$55,000 Three Year Old Fillies event over the mile turf course at Del Mar.

Enduring a wide run throughout, Bonita Star (GB) showed determination under jockey Martin Garcia to hold off the challenges and in doing so notched up another winner for the Mike Mitchell stable who looks well placed to claim the Del Mar Trainers Title this season with three days remaining in the meet.

Bonita Star (GB) was purchased at the 2010 Tattersalls Horses In-Training Sale for £15,000 by Jamie Lloyd and Boomer Bloodstock for successful owners Jim Ford & Ken Smole.
