The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale concluded with OBVIOUSLY (IRE) selling for 130,000 guineas to Jamie Lloyd and Boomer Bloodstock’s Australian agent Craig Rounsefell.
The top priced lot on the final day was the three-year-old gelding OBVIOUSLY (pictured) who had earned a ‘Timeform’ rating of 99 on the back of a handicap win at Dundulk two weeks earlier. Consigned to the sale from Peter Fahey’s Roefield Stables on behalf of Clare View Farms, the son of CHOISIR was knocked down to Jamie Lloyd and Boomer Bloodstock’s Craig Rounsefell for 130,000 guineas.
“He was our top pick of the sale,” said Lloyd. “But we couldn’t get to see him until Wednesday! Thankfully it all worked out well.
“He is for Mike Mitchell, and he is just our sort of horse – he is lightly raced, progressive, will get two turns in America and is a very good-looking horse. He has also won on both turf and the All-Weather, commented Crag Rounsefell following the purchase.
Over the course of the week Boomer Bloodstock and Jamie Lloyd were able to purchase 7 horses for American based clients with all horses headed for California.
